What some call core values, we call DNA
Think back to your 9th-grade Biology class for a moment.
Mr. or Mrs. Teacher taught us all about genetics - particularly deoxyribonucleic acid, or DNA, for short - and how it is the delivery system for why any organism is composed the way it is.
Since The Church is metaphorically referred to in scripture as The Body of Christ (Colossians 1:8), we like to seize on the metaphor to share why our core values will shape our church's look, sound, and size.
Remember DNA: genetic information contained between two coiled posts called the double helix. For HCC, that double helix, if you will, is found in Jesus' words recorded as The Great Commandments: "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind" and "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
HCC exists to help build God's family by loving Him and loving people (Matthew 22:35-40).
Our DNA flows from those two ideals.
Discover Your Purpose
Make a Difference
At HCC, we offer ample opportunity for people to know God, find freedom, discover their purpose, and make a difference glocally (globally + locally)... and - in doing so - leave a heritage for, and in, the LORD (Psalm 119:111; Isaiah 38:19)!
